George Will has posted an excellent journalistic expose of Fred Thompson's hypocrisy and stupidity. Highly recommended for anti-Fred Heads.

I've gotten the idea from other things George Will has made, that he's solidly decided to support Rudy Giuliani.

Why is Fred Thompson polling so well in the Republican primary polls? His resume is not nearly as replete as any one of the three other major contenders. His late entry to the field only proves his rumored penchant for laziness.
His primary political experience consists of two uneventful Senate terms. He started acting in Hollywood before his second term was up, basically proving he didn't even care about his vested duties too much. He shows no particular enthusiasm for the campaign he is now involved in. I've never seen someone so unenthusiastic about running for President.
Reporter: "What distinguishes you from the other candidates?"
Fred: "Well I haven't actually read their websites, so I can't really answer."(!!!)

The former heads of the 9/11 Commission, suggest that the primary reason Muslims hate America, is because we don't help the Palestinians enough.

Surprise sirs, but the only reason there is a 'Palestinian Problem' is because of crooked Arab leaders. The Arab League bans all Palestinians from becoming citizens of any Arab country! There is no 'Jewish Refugee' problem vis-a-vis the thousands of Jews kicked out of Arab countries in 1948, because they settled somewhere else - Israel. The Palestinians are the first people in history to remain in one place and agitate they are not settled(by calling cities 'refugee camps') and not leave if they don't like it there.

The Arab countries force this upon them to redirect hatred towards the West and Israel, that would otherwise be directed at them, for their undemocratic suppresion of their own peoples.

Congratulations Misters Kean and Hamilton. You fell for it, hook, line, and sinker.

Bin Laden's latest Suggestion

So, according to the transcript of the latest alleged Osama tape, Mr. Bin Laden has put forth some reasons which he sees as compelling to join Islam. To wit:
* Lower Income Taxes(apparently to appeal to economic conservatives. Didn't invoke Reagan, though!)
* America is destroying the world through global warming(the Democratic argument)
* John Kennedy took over the the Presidency, and refused to stop the Vietnam war, being run by Donald Rumsfeld, due to pressure from Big Corporations.(Apparently appealing to those who are on drugs and/or slept through history class)
Take note, he did not mention any virgins.

I primarily want to address the 'lower taxes' issue. Now, Obama, as you may have guessed, does not have any tax returns on file, as of late. We don't know how much he's paying, but we do know this:
He is a sweaty Muslim who lives in a cave(no property taxes, either!). So is he really one to impress us with his lifestyle? What exactly does he do with the money he saves on taxes? He can't exactly get season tickets to the Yankees, and dine out during New York City 'Restautrant Week'. I mean, he wouldn't get through security, based on smell alone. He can't even walk into CVS to get a Snapple.
So my fellow Americans, before you leave to join Islam, take a pause. Think about those lower taxes, but think about the smelly cave, the tomahawk missiles following you around, and the burka. Is it really worth it?

Space Rant

When you hear that rags are literally holding together and sticking out of the Discovery, you know our shuttle program has problems.

I am sick of how much money is wasted in NASA. We're spending billions on insignifigant progress. While this op-ed in the NY Times claims that progress requires risk and investment, that's only true if there is progress, and if that risk cannot be reduced. We need to reduce the amount of money wasted by NASA. The Russians send their people to space with a fraction of the cost we do.

FYI: Annual NASA budget: Approximately $15 billion, or as NASA chief Griffin put it: "If you took all of that money, $60 a day wouldn't get the average American through very many meals (actual quote from Meet The Press, July 31st, you read that right).
